September 2011, Charity Event Supporting Cancer Relief, Marie Curie, St Julia's Hospice, In Excess Of  £1,300 Raised.

"The Strawdogs Party/Function Band very generously gave up their time recently to play at our charity event at the Camborne rugby club.

They were a massive hit with everyone who came, filling the dance floor with great music all evening and also creating a fun atmosphere!

Everyone had so much fun (and raised lots of money) and would like it to become an annual event!! The evening also encouraged new followers of the bands they were so impressed. A friend of mine took a business card with the view of booking them for her daughter's wedding!
You guys are stars in every way!!! Thank you x"

Newquay Mayor Andy Hannan has had the first £500 raised for his chosen charity “The Joe Way Appeal”

Joe Way, who was born with a rare genetic condition, was labelled a 'miracle boy' after surviving meningitis, a potentially deadly skin reaction, and numerous superbugs as well as complete organ failure. He died three years ago, after a rapid deterioration in health.

His website has been set up to tell his story, raise awareness of his conditions, help raise money for the Children’s Hospice South West’s Precious Lives Appeal to build a children’s hospice in Cornwall and supports another 20 charities mainly at the now annual Joe Way paddle for life.

"Charity events are always hard to cater for, but we were blown away with the quality and varied playlist of the Strawdogs. We have never seen everyone up on the dance floor at a Mayors annual ball but these guys brought the room to life and kept everyone on their feet. We would highly recommend this band for large, small and corporate gigs."
